Solar Harness & PV Cable Assembly | MC4 Y-Branch
Solar harnesses and PV cable assemblies: MC4-compatible extensions, Y-branch pairs and string harnesses on TUV PV1-F, H1Z2Z2-K or UL 4703 wire.
Photovoltaic (Solar) Harness: what we build
A solar harness lives outdoors for twenty-five years, so the decisions that matter are the ones that survive weather rather than the ones that look good on a drawing. The wire is cross-linked, halogen-free and UV-stabilised; the connector is mated to the same series on the panel side; and the crimp is pull-tested because a loose MC4 joint is a hot spot waiting to happen.
The wire we build on is the same TUV and UL photovoltaic line already documented in this catalogue. Where a project has to satisfy EN 50618 the harness carries H1Z2Z2-K; where the approval is TUV 2 PfG 1169 it carries PV1-F; where the array is North American and UL 4703 governs, it carries the UL PV wire. Naming the standard on the drawing is enough for us to select the right one.
Y-branch pairs, four-way and six-way string harnesses, extension leads and fused branches are assembled and tested as complete parts, so the string is terminated once on site rather than field-fitted.
How we build it
- MC4-compatible extension leads in the lengths your string actually needs
- Y-branch pairs and multi-way string harnesses built as one tested part
- Inline fuse holders and fused branch assemblies integrated where required
- Double-insulated, halogen-free jacket on every PV wire we use
- Polarity check and pull-test on each terminated end before packing
- Wire selected to EN 50618, 2 PfG 1169, IEC 62930 or UL 4703 to match the project
Wire we build this harness on
Every conductor is Xinya wire from this site's own catalogue, so the style inside the harness can be traced to a published data sheet. These are the lines most often specified for this application:
- PV1-F solar cable, TUV 2 PfG 1169
- H1Z2Z2-K solar cable to EN 50618
- IEC 62930 photovoltaic cable
- UL 4703 photovoltaic wire, E331816
- UL1277 photovoltaic tray cable for the AC side
If your drawing names a style that is not listed here, ask — the catalogue published on this site is a subset of what the factory runs, and we can quote against a style number as easily as against a description.
How to get a quotation
Send the drawing, the sample, a photograph with a scale in shot, or a table of from-to points. Our reply names the wire style, the connector series, the crimp specification, the sleeving and the test method, so your engineers can approve the part rather than interpret a description. Nothing on this site carries a price: every harness is quoted against the specification you provide.
