Signal & Data Harness | Shielded Cable Assembly
Shielded data and signal harnesses: twisted pairs, controlled impedance runs and terminated shields on UL multi-conductor cable, built to your pin-out.
Communication, Data & Signal Harness: what we build
A signal harness is judged by what it rejects. The shield has to be continuous from end to end, the drain has to land on the ground the schematic nominates, and the pairs have to stay pairs — a twisted pair that is separated for the last 30 mm before the connector has stopped being a twisted pair.
The catalogue already carries the cable this work needs. UL2464 at 80 °C and 300 V is the general-purpose shielded multi-conductor line; UL2517 lifts that to 105 °C; UL20276 is the compact 30 V option for dense low-voltage signal runs; and the UL2095 and UL2547 lines are the SR-PVC shielded constructions used where the assembly has to be flexible as well as quiet.
Pin-by-pin continuity and shield continuity are recorded for each assembly, because the failure mode that wastes an engineer’s afternoon is not a dead cable, it is a cable with two pins swapped that still passes a continuity beep test.
How we build it
- Twisted pairs and individually shielded groups laid up to your pin-out
- Shield terminated to a drain lead or backshell ground, verified end to end
- Pin-by-pin continuity recorded rather than a single beep test
- Control-impedance and low-capacitance constructions on request
- EMI-tight backshells and shielded connector shells where the route demands them
- Colour, stripe and printed identification matched to your schematic
Wire we build this harness on
Every conductor is Xinya wire from this site's own catalogue, so the style inside the harness can be traced to a published data sheet. These are the lines most often specified for this application:
- UL2464 80 °C 300 V multi-conductor cable
- UL2517 105 °C 300 V multi-conductor cable
- UL20276 compact 30 V multi-conductor cable
- UL2095 shielded multi-conductor cable, SR-PVC
- UL2547 SR-PVC shielded multi-conductor cable
- UL1347 shielded single-conductor cable for discrete runs
If your drawing names a style that is not listed here, ask — the catalogue published on this site is a subset of what the factory runs, and we can quote against a style number as easily as against a description.
How to get a quotation
Send the drawing, the sample, a photograph with a scale in shot, or a table of from-to points. Our reply names the wire style, the connector series, the crimp specification, the sleeving and the test method, so your engineers can approve the part rather than interpret a description. Nothing on this site carries a price: every harness is quoted against the specification you provide.
